About foote woodworking, Inc.

We're all familiar with the concept, “I wouldn't change things even if I could” ...We were raised on a farm in Illinois; four boys, two girls. Our mother is quite a woman, free spirited, forever young and always supportive of our expressive endeavors. Our father was truly a master of the mechanical realm, a man who could figure out how to do just about anything. He showed us innovation and patience. It was a nice mix, and a great beginning. Life on that country road was pretty hard to beat, learning the value of hard work, the land and family. Then came the seventies… The Age of Restlessness.

It was the time when seemingly everyone needed to roam.
I moved to Oregon and California. Then to Colorado, Arkansas and back to Colorado, making custom furniture and building houses along the way. I met my beautiful wife Jerris, the love of my life, in Boulder. Our fascination with the mountains and the West has taken us from Arizona to Alberta, from British Columbia to Baja California, experiencing spectacular landscapes, inspirational Native American art and mind-boggling architecture of the Great Lodges.
My brother Tom came from San Diego County to join the business in the late 1980's, becoming one of the most sought after woodworkers in our area. He too has spent many years exploring the West Coast and the Rockies, enamoured of their vastness and beauty. The experiences of living “out West” and returning as often as possible, has given us an appreciation of the subtle grandeur of all things Western. We strive to marry that inspiration with our traditional woodworking skills in each piece of handmade furniture we create.
